About Sunny Beach

NESSEBAR

Adjoining Sunny Beach to the West, about a 10 minute stroll from the centre, is the quieter Nessebar. Nessebar Old Town, included in the Uneco list of World Heritage, is one of the most ancient cities in Europe It sits on a rocky peninsula, with a narrow strip of land joining it to the newer areas. Originally a Thracian settlement and later becoming a Greek Colony it boasts beautiful cobbled streets, with historical monuments and churches largely dating from the 11th – 14th century.

Also worth visiting is the beautiful flower garden and many gift shops. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants where locally caught fish and good, inexpensive wine can be enjoyed overlooking the sea. There is a regular bus shuttle service operating between Vega Village and Nessebar
